Japanese traditional dolls exhibition at the mcve

On the occasions of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of domestic relations between Vietnam and Japan (1973-2013) and the 71st anniversary of International Children’s Day (1/6/1942-1/6/2013), Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups (MCVE) in association with the Vietnamese Women’s Museum (VWM) organizes an exhibition “Japanese Traditional Dolls”.

The exhibition introduces nearly 150 Edo-Kimekomi Dolls and some other types of dolls used in the Baby Girl Festival or Hina Matsuri. We hope you will enjoy Japanese traditional heritage and culture through skillfully handcrafted traditional dolls. Besides exhibition, several sub-activities will be presented at the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s Ethnic Groups such as Origami Corner and Kinomo, Yukata Try-on.Time: Opening ceremony: 09:30 AM; Tuesday, May 28th 2013. ( lasts until June 30th).Venue: MCVE: No. 1, Đội Cấn Str., Thái Nguyên City.The exhibition is expected as a great chance for visitors, especially children, to enjoy Japanese traditional cultural heritage in terms of traditional dolls; at the same time experience other special activities to be held first time in Thai Nguyen.
