Researching waterway culture in Tien Giang and Ben Tre provinces.

In order to preserve and promote the cultural values of Mekong River dwellers, contributing to the development of the project “Expanding exhibition and cultural activities to the Cau Riverside and Cau River Park” from 15th, September, 2013, the Museum of the Cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic groupsappoints two groups of  research, collection, documentation of cultural artifacts associated with rivers and canals in Ben Tre and Tien Giang provinces.

In Ben Tre province, the collectors conducted surveys, studies, and note data on some activitiesof folk beliefs associated with the cultural activities of the residents as well as catching fish, making all kinds of boats, fishing equipment and the beliefs related three river basins: Tien River and Ham Luong River, Co Chien River.

With a interlacing network of rivers, canals, long coastline that facilitated the exchange of goods between the neighborhood areas and it also is an environment for the aquaculture and fishing products. Both Tien and Vam Co TayRivers in Tien Giang province are rich documentation resources that provide information and data for professional activities of the Museum.
