Vice president, Mrs Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh visiter the museum of the cultures of VietNam’s ethnic groups

In the morning on 17th December 2016, Mrs Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Vice President, member of the central Comite of the Vietnamese Communist Party visitedthe museum of the cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic groups on abusiness trip in Thai Nguyen province. Accompanying the delegation, there were Mrs.Dang Thi Bich Lien-Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism; Mr.Bui Xuan Hoa-Deputy secretary of Provincial committee of the Party, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s council and many important leaders,staffs of the other sectors.

After visiting the exhibition system and enjoying folklore demonstration activities performed by museum staffs, such as: water puppetry of Northern plains area,singing Then of the Tay ethnic group,performing Pan-pipe,flute of the H’mong, Khmer musical instruments, Cham dancing…

Vice president gave a compliment to the museum for being dynamical, creative in displaying,serving as well as attracting visitors and also many valuable ideas.

The museum of the cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic groups is one of 5 national museums,which has to not only pioneer in conservation and promotion the culture of 54 ethnic groups in Vietnam, but also strive to become a bright and favourite destination to attract tourists coming to Thai Nguyen in particular and Viet Bac area in general.

With friendship and hospitality, the Vice president also sent her new year grettings of solidarity,success to all of officers and staffs of the museum to do political tasks well.

In each exhibition space,there is a folk art performance, making items more lively.

“Ngu am” is an orchestra including 5 musical instruments coordinating together, often used in rituals and festivals of The Khmer ethnic group in the south of Vietnam. In 2012, to add performances for displays, the Museum invited Khmer artisans, Mr. Thach Si Phong from Bac Lieu province to come to train the Museum staffs.Since then, whenever visitors have been there, they will enjoy the sound of the “Ngu am” orchestra with the typical identity of the southern lands.

In the room of the Malayo – Polynesian and Chinese culture(Room No.5), besides displays of the Malayo – Polynesian cultural characteristics such as the E De’s long stilt-house, Cham towrs,visitors can enjoy dances of Apsara, paper fans,water carrying and the drum sound of Ghi nang, Paranung of the Cham ethnic group. An important thing is combination of original objective cuture and enduring spiritual value, that are conserved by ethnic groups and performed to serve visitors by the museum.

In addition to the permanent exhibination system, the Museum often organizes many others thematic exhibination to attract visitors.

The visiting of the Vice president and other leaders was an encouragement for museum officials who worked day and night silentlyto preserve and develop national culture, make the origin of Vietnamese culture always to be internal force of enduring development of the country.
