Exhibition “Colors of VietNam” in ThaiLand

On the occasion of celebrating the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Kingdom of Thailand (6/8/1976 – 6/8/2016), Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized “Vietnam Cultural Week in Thailand” and issued Decision No. 2482 / QĐ-BTVHTTDT, July 12th, 2016 on the assignment to Museum of the cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic groups to organize the exhibition with a theme “Country, people and culture of Vietnam”.

With nearly 100 photographs and over 300 documents and objects, the exhibition introduced the typical characteristics of Vietnamese culture through natural geography, types of residence, costumes, handicrafts: embroidery, weaving , houses, traditional musical instruments … of Vietnam’s ethnic groups, in order to introduce nature, country, people and culture of Vietnam. The exhibition will contribute to honour the cultural identity, preserve and promote the traditional textile of ethnic groups in Vietnam in particular, South East Asia in general.

This is a meaningful activity in celebration of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, contributing to the strengthening of the solidarity and friendship between the two countries in particular and ASEAN countries in general.

The exhibition is opened from 9th to 14th of August 2016 at Bangkok, Thailand.

On June 26th, 2003, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong met the Chairman of the National Assembly, Chairman of House of Representatives of Thailand, Mr Somsak Kiatsuranont and the President of the Senate, Mr. Nikom Wairatpanij at the Parliament House of Thailand.

On 16th July 2016, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mr.  Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, Mr. Thanasak Patimapragorn, to visit and work in Vietnam.
